Authenticity and individuality cannot be achieved with ready-made solutions. They come from a blend of in-depth professional expertise and a genuine understanding of each client – their needs, habits and the spaces they wish to transform. Nest Studio embodies this philosophy, uniting knowledge, sensitivity, and creativity to craft interiors that reflect the essence of those who inhabit them. Marina Stoyanova and Dimitar Dimitrov share more.

What is the most important step in your creative process that allows a space to "speak" in harmony with the personality of its inhabitants?

Marina Stoyanova: The best projects are those for clients with whom, figuratively speaking, we are "on the same wavelength." A shared outlook and mutual trust are essential for the journey towards realising the interior. An interior project is a deeply personal process, and lately I find myself more and more convinced of the truth in the words: "You can work only with people you like." In this sense, a designer's portfolio is very important when choosing whom to work with – ultimately, it represents the projects through which they have chosen to present their work.

Dimitar Dimitrov: All processes and stages in design are important. A space cannot be in harmony with its inhabitants if the designer is not in harmony with themselves. It should be noted that the clearly and correctly defined design brief is of enormous benefit to the entire process, the final result and the deadlines.

How does working on a residential interior differ from working on an office space? How do you manage to discover a company's "soul"?

MS: One is a very personal experience and can take a long time, while work in a business environment is much more systematised. There we usually have a clearly defined brief, budget and deadlines. From this point of view, communication tends to be much more concise and structured. As for the "soul" of every company – it lies in the people who work there.

DD: Residential and office interiors are similar in that both must be in tune with their inhabitants, just like the elements of an organism – everything must be in harmony. Only then can the space respond to their needs, desires, vision and projection over time.

Which contemporary trend in interior design do you believe will become a future classic?

MS: At the heart of every interior lies the human being – design is entirely a reflection of one's pursuits, needs and everyday life. In this sense, I can only hope that humanity as a whole will increasingly think about preserving our shared home – the Earth.

DD: Sustainable trends are usually old ones that have made a comeback. They are refined through new technological possibilities and by adapting daily life to our high-tech present. In contrast, there are designers who create products that can be compared to works of art – and this makes them timeless.

The project you would most like to create?

MS: I wish for us to work on a project where the client has chosen us consciously and trusts us completely – the way one trusts their dentist, for example. Someone who will appreciate the talent, skill and responsibility we put into every project.

DD: Each new project is the one that always sparks interest. When the desire for growth and self-improvement meets the client's trust, it leads to the kind of project every designer would love to create.

Nest Studio:

Интериорният проект е доста личен процес и в последно време все повече се убеждавам, във верността на думите – You can work only with people you like.
