In 2025, we celebrate 100 years of forestry education in Bulgaria – a milestone that underlines our pioneering position in forestry science and education. We are proud with our alumni who are committed to the protection and development of Bulgaria's natural forest resources.

With our outstanding history and traditions, we maintain high academic standards, ensuring a strong link between science, education and business, with a focus on responsible use of nature and its resources.

What are the university's most popular programmes?

All of our programmes are highly regarded, but some stand out: Forestry, Landscape Architecture, Wood Technology and Furniture, and Veterinary Medicine. Recently we have seen a surge in the demand for courses such as Engineering Design (Interior and Furniture Design), Computer Technologies in the Furniture Industry, Ecology and Environmental Protection, Alternative Tourism, Agronomy and Plant Protection.

What career opportunities does the university offer its students?

University of Forestry graduates benefit from training in fields that provide quick access to job markets. They gain career boosting opportunities even during their studies by combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical training in real work environments.

Our university takes a competency-based approach to education, involving industry experts and business representatives in the learning process.

Students can meet and interact with future employers through internship programmes, where they apply their knowledge in real-life situations and acquire specialised professional skills.
